Due to the hot weather at the Bash the solder connectors on my speed resistor (front) have sprang loose.

I solded the connectors back as a quick fix but didn't work :( but now a have another problem the rear blower and the aircon no longer work (no lights on the switches either) seems I have done something, maybe blown a fuse? I have looked at the fuses they seem ok ..... help what am I missing?

Front resistor only replaced in april

Hey experiment626, you are not alone. trust me.

You probably have a blower motor that is, like mine, old and tired ..... but not finished!

There is a help file in the member?s area that describes how to refurbish the motor back to as new or almost. Not too difficult but replacing the motor was fiddly.

I too suffered from a resistor failure that was corrected by re-soldering. A year on the motor stopped once more but the resistor contacts were intact. That is when I chose between buying a new motor at ?120 or having a go at refurbishment.

It worked and some months later it?s still fine.
Why not have a go? Good luck!

Cant find the help file !

Hi. I saw you mentioned that there was a help file describing how to refurbish the heater blower motor, but after looking for a while I cant find it !

I would be grateful if you could point me to the appropriate area in the members section.

Many thanks,
