Been an idiot - need new tail gate!

Hi guys,
I was an idiot at the weekend. When I was checking out the surf I managed to reverse into a pole. My cycle rack has smashed my rear window. I've also badly dented my tail gate and bumper. I'm going to need a whole new tail gate and bumper!!
I'm in Aberdeen but as my van's perfectly drivable having sealed up the rear window with polythene I can travel down to the central belt to a 'bongo friendly' garage to get this sorted out. I'm not planning to put it through the insurance at the moment...
Any suggestions?

Try the bongo breaking section, someone may have a tailgate for sale. Looks like you are going to need a reversing camera to, Dave_Aber wired mine up for me.

Ouch! Been there, done that, 3 times in hte Bongo though with relatively minor damage to the bumper. Can't believe it when I get caught out. I'm an otherwise accident free driver of of 40+ years, ex prof. van driver etc., so its a great humiliation to me when I screw up. You have my sympathy, and good luck

Hubby reckons there are too many poles in this country as he has been there, done that. We now have parking sensors fitted so that he can reverse in the dark too.
Actually the first thing he asked when I said what you have done was "How was the surf?"

The surf was good early that morning but had dropped off a fair bit by the afternoon, although there were still a few out. I should have gone in, then I might not have attempted my ill fated reversing manouvere...

Is that Dave in Aberdare ?? that is a sweet looking reverse camera. My wife has terrible trouble reversing the bongo so I promised I would get one of these. Are they expensive ??
