Hi does anyone know if it matters which way round the cables go onto the rear speakers ive replaced them both but cant seem to see which is + or which is - on either the new ones or the old ones. Thanks alot , they are working and swapping the wires doesnt seem to make any difference. ? #-o

They'll work with either polarity, but if you get it wrong the speakers will be out of phase, either with each other, or with the front pair. Effectively one cone will will be moving outwards while other is moving in and it will sound imbalanced. Trial and error is probably the simplest way forward.

Thanks for that Ive done some more research and now have the colours for the wires from an earlier forum post but as the vehicle has been converted it no longer has the original wires one side. Im assuming the converting people have got it right.
You can test the speakers with a battery to see which way the cones move apparently....positive moves it upward

You're liable to damage the speaker with anything more than a 1.5v battery using that method - and if you do try it then just touch the terminals briefly to see the cone move.

From memory speakers work on ac not dc.

Oh, and the test won't work if there are crossover diodes in the speakers..........................
