is there a general maintenence plan that you adhere to for the Auto free tops apart from general greasing the
the sliders/rollers??
Can the motors be taken apart for a lube up etc???

Other than just lubricating the the sliding bits, I haven't heard of anybody doing mtce. on anything else mechanical at all.

And excercise it a few times out of season so things don't get stuck.g8dhe wrote:Other than just lubricating the the sliding bits, I haven't heard of anybody doing mtce. on anything else mechanical at all.

Adrian at Japan Direct tells me he always greases the motor gearboxes well when he is doing a client rebuild. He says regular use is also a good idea. Condensation then corrosion are what cause the motors damage over time. May not be a big problem in Oz?

Re: pop top maintenence..
Sounds like the electric pop tops are pretty reliable!!
Its a question that comes up when a customer purchases a bongo conversion from myself as to the reliability of the pop tops..
Now i am pretty happy to pass on that info...
Just a grease up of the runners and maybe take the motors apart to grease up too hey?? Just unbolt the motors,
or does the roof have to be in a certain place to remove them? Thanks Gav..
