Right peeps this thing seems to be the cause of my problems..I hope, if this works okay can someone id it so I can order a new one pronto.;

Is it the vacuum solenoid valves and base plate.??

Look like vacuum solenoids/3-way valves - Part 18-741? Are they the one high-up above the glow plugs? "Fast idle solenoids"? I'm just guessing - someone else should be able to confirm.

I imagine you'd easily get a set from a breaker...

Strange thing is it seems to have a mitsubishi logo on the side of em.

I had a Mitsu Spacewagon (which I was v. fond of but...) that blew its ECU. £600 for a new one. And I'd just been made redundant....again. A moment I won't forget

to test just put 12v to the contacts,and try to blow through them,they are just a on/off switch.
inside is a magnet/plate that blocks a port. you should hear/feel it click shut when power is put to it.
watch the plastic ends they can break off.
they are fitted to mitzi padjero's etc and mazda petrols with egr fitted. and prob many more. common scrappy part.

well went up my local breakers yard this afternoon just on a whim,lol, showed the part to "the man",lol, and straight away he said, "That's off a mitsubishi" showed him the side and it has the mitsubishi emblem on , got one off a pajero in the yard, tested it there and it works fine so it's in the garage for fitting, fingers crossed it is all ok as a new one is £188.00 from mazda, quoted £55 second hand, I got this one for......A BLOODY FIVER....yay, lucky or what, terminals are not exactly the same but adaptable.

thanks jay superb link and perfect on the nail,lol, just waiting for the garage to fit it and test now, hope to be using the thing for trip to Dawlish Warren on saturday, fingers crossed.
