Would you really trust something as important as your brakes to a company who can't spell "Quick" ?

0r in lay mans terms we give you the cheapest parts for free(the pads/shoes) for life, but we then charge you lots of money for the discs, just to keep within the manufacturers tolerances of course, also for life.
maybe a bargain, maybe not.

That's the same "fast fit" outfit that robbed me £800 for new pads and discs on the scorpio cosworth i had at the time (about 13 years ago)... I made the mistake of not asking how much before i said "yes just replace whatever it needs" The fella then took the car for a "quick run" to bed in the brakes for me... I noticed a burning smell upon his return... When i checked the cars computer he'd managed 68 MPH in 1st gear! Not bad considering he'd gone down a 30 MPH road... Good job there wasn't any speed cameras! The brakes were crap afterwards too, i should have stuck with standard Ford stuff, About £450 (fitted) from a proper ford dealer... You lives and learns!

Just a qick scan on the web and it would appear that front and rear discs and pads come in at £120 for all the bits, so now it'll be interesting to see what kwikfit want to charge

Get a written quote and if they phone you up mid job and tell you that this n that needs doing insist on seeing the old parts that they say need changing whilst they're still on the van and if you do have anything else changed ask for the old bits back.

I bought new brake pads and made sure they were correct for the bongo, took them to a local garage and they charged me £5 to fit.
Lost without my Bongo.

My Bongo's brakes started squealing 2 days before Stourport Bongo bash ! :( Shock horror panic
I took to my neared "free check" place aka Kwik Fit, they had a look & informed me I needed new Brake shoes, Calipers & discs #-o #-o   But they couldn't get the parts ( )

Called ADS (bongo specialists) & they did the job next day Discs=OK, Calipers=managed to un-seize just had to pay for new brake shoes & labour... =D> ........................Off to Bongo Bash the next day

personally....... NO don't go there..... that company are known to ALWAYS rip you off one way or another plus I would hazard a guess they wouldn't have a clue where to get the pads etc from....

Hi,

It might be worthwhile getting your vehicles brake fluid replaced if not been done recently.

Cheers.

I'd avoid Kwikfit for reasons given above, but any good local mechanic (if you can find one on recommendation) should be able to do the job at v. reasonable cost (pads alone is not a complex job at all). You don't need a Bongo specialist, just an old fashioned honest competent mechanic. 8)

+1 to that. Worth taking the time to find on of them - a rare breed and getting rarer!
