Mystery switch

I know there's often a few threads like this - my mystery one is the switch next to the electric window controls on the driver's door. There is a long thin switch marked "On" at one end. I have made some guesses to do with the window controls and the central locking but none of my experiments have shown it to do anything that I can determine.
Any ideas ?
Thanks

On some, the switch that overrides the passenger window control has 'ON' written on it. If it's not that, maybe it was but no longer works... Or maybe it controls something else

If you mean the one at the back of the switch panel at 90 degrees, it switches the passy side window control on/off.

That's the one, first place to look if your windows don't work as it can get knocked into the 'Off' position.

It's the
'Test your passengers sense of humour' switch
How it works,
a) Spend an evening eating Curry, Cabbage, Baked Beans, Lentils and wash it down with some fizzy pop
b) Go for long drive (with passenger)
c) Turn off passenger window
d) Chuckle like a demented school boy whilst your passenger gasps for air
Warning: If passenger turns blue then turn on passenger window immediately!

When in stalled my 626 switch replacement, there was actually a live feed off that switch, as opposed to the the original Bongo version disabling of the passy window by turning the power off to the passy circuit...
I used this live feed off the switch as a trigger for a "panic mode", (which was a feature on my alarm system) flick the switch & the vehicle locks down. Even closing both the windows, if open too! I used a relay cunningly placed to trick the window closure modulo the engine was off in order to do this.. It all unlocks when the ignition switches off & resets.

Possible fog light switch.try it and see. Bongo's in Japan dont have fog lights, over here its the law, so an after market light and switch are normally fitted.
