Check my reply on yer other thread..?!! http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... =3&t=51634

More knowledgeable peeps that have experienced the same will no doubt point you in the right direction sourcing another alternator... Maybe get a deal on a reconditioned warrantied unit?

Is it just a starter battery you have fitted, or is there a second leisure of winter pack battery under the bonnet too..?

Jay, if we can keep this to just one thread you may have a better chance of solving this predicament without confusion of input from other forum users..?! Running the topic a little more linear?!

I wish you all the best sorting this! 8)

Nah, not really... But it is moving out of my "comfort zone".. It certainly throws a different light on the problem.. It could be a duff second battery pulling the starter battery back??? Just a guess...!!

Where are you roughly based?

Charge & Sediment light IS a shot alternator. It matters not how many batteries or what kind of set-up you have.

Don't chance buying a cheap replacement ebay one. most will only last a week.

Been there & done that - Twice!

also check its the right alternator had months of problems when local garage sent mine off for refurb and got sent back a smaller one -eventually the size difference was obvious even to me when miss fixit and northern bungalow removed it and put it next to what should have been in there.

please check carefully the ampage of any replacement you are considering, the original is 90amp, the ranger one is a little lower in output, and others described as bongo ones are even less.
with everything on drawing max ampage you may need the extra.
