Hi, the problem i am having is a strange squeaking sound coming from the engine. I checked the belts by tightening slightly and spraying with wd40 just to see if the squeak went away but made no difference. When the engine is idling there is no sound until i touch the throttle. The more throttle the louder the squeak. It doesnt seem to make any differnce if the engine is hot or cold. anybody got any ideas. thanks

Sounds like a popped exhaust manifold stud. Not uncommon, and usually caused by a warped exhaust manifold.

Look at the studs & nuts holding the exhaust manifold on. Some are obscured by the tin heatshield. The usual culprit is No.1, which is the furthest forward. What you are looking for is soot around the front end of the manifold, on the stud / nut and on the "cross docking stock" area (3 pipes joining the cylinder head). Yo may find that the No.1 stud and nut are missing completely.

You can have the broken stud removed and a new one fitted, but it is better to do it properly, and have the exhaust manifold removed and skimmed, then refitted with a new gasket and all new studs / nuts.
