We are Bongo'ing in Gloucestershire next weekend and plan to move on to South Wales for 3 or 4 nights.
Anyone recommend a nice clean, kid friendly site within walking distance to a beach ?

Thanks both !
That site ticks all the boxes.
Seems like a perfect location and with the facilities we need.
Found lots of OK sites by Googl'ing but that one looks to be the best by far !

It's an absolute cracker and by far my favourite beach campsite.
You can't book so don't turn up on the Friday night of a beautiful weekend in the summer holidays as it will probably be full!

Just back from that area of the Gower - didnt stay at Hillend as no dogs allowed although luckily they are allowed on the beach.
The beach though .... yuck!! Full of rubbish including unmentionable personal product waste, dead birds etc and the sea had a strange yellow froth on it - very off putting and as soon as I realised I stopped going in the water and stopped the dog from going in too ...
Lots and lots of wasps all over the Gower too - think they must have been on their holidays too ...
Such a shame as it really is a beautiful part of the world - that said there are other beaches which are cleaner ...
On the wasps front - if you are plagued whilst eating by them put a pile of ground coffee (not instant) on a tea plate and put some lit matches into the pile - this will smoke (not flame) with a pleasant aroma and will deter the wasps as the smell overpowers the other scents.
Hope the weather is as good for you as it was for me!!

Freshwater East Caravan Club site fits the bill.....short walk...150m to the beach....trouble is it's Pembrokeshire, not just across the border...depends how far you want to trek..

+1 for Hillend. Excellent site!!!! right on beach.
There is also 3 Cliffs Bay (possibly one of the most beautiful beaches in world)but usually fully booked at this time of year - still visit the beach though as it is ace for big kids!!!!!

There is a site right by the beach in Port Eynon.
I have used it a couple of times for canoeing. Two of their fields are very near the sea. not sure if it is the same business as the one named nearby on Google maps.

Plenty of room for amateur radio as well, G4GXL !
