I ordered a Ripspeed DV720 form Halfords last week, it was a refurb unit with 12 month warranty for £59 ! it arrived last night and was in Mint condition and was fitted to my Bongo in about 10 mins, dead easy just three connections, the main plug, Aerial and the hand brake wire to earth.

Must say for £59 it is really quite good (for a brand new stock one they are still £299 at Halfords !)

The touch screen is a bit slow to respond but DVD pic and sound quailty are great, even watched Star Trek in my lunch hour today and have fitted a further 7" screen I had tucked away at work for the rear passengers.

Just checked again today and Halfords have put the cost up to £89 but showing as no stock, wander if they made a mistake last week with the price ?

Next mod it to finish my didgital temp gauge tonight and then a digital Volt gauge for the LB & SB

You got a bargain there. I bought same one second hand for £85 on ebay - halfords were then selling them for £169 but yep, they're now at £299 !
Its a cracking little unit and cd sound is superb in my bongo. Light fingered scum probably wouldn't recognise it although i usually put the plastic cover on anyhow. Only neg is no video input for reversing camera but 2x output means link to rear screen and i've also added a 10inch reversing mirror/monitor for camera and dvd. If you connect parking wire to permanent feed it allows it to play dvd when driving. I'm not saying the driver should watch whilst driving as this is illegal and dangerous - but i turn the mirror monitor towards the passenger so it can be viewed only by passenger and put the sreen on the ripospeed down [ it still plays dvd but only shows on mirror/monitor.]
The reversing camera [£6 e bay ] is wired to reversing beep and the monitor picks up camera feed automatically when reverse is selected then switches auto to off or dvd whichever was selected previously.

must have read same book as my next 2 projects are lb/sb voltmeter and temp. gauge !

I like the funky coloured switches on your dash, what are they for ? I have put my digital temp guage where you have those switches, I'll post some pics up tomorrow

pic of side leds fitted to awning brackets to illuminate under awning. switch is on inside door jalmb with feed from side door electric blind. Leds were £5.49 but are now £3.99 inc. p/p for a pair on fleebay ! :P lights are on brackets which move up/down for best results - they're perfect as they use hardly any power and give off just right amount of light without blinding everyone else.

Excellent - and all for £59 !!

before you fit the leds just test them across battery terminals , my first pair had 3 duff bulbs on one of the sets. No big deal as the seller sent a replacement pair immmediately and let me keep the others so i got 3 good sets , just easier if you haven't wired them in !
