Does anyone know if it is OK to stay overnight on Ainsdale beach?

Used to go and park overnight with the car many years ago but wondered what the situation is now.

Dunno Brian, Hatrish are the ones to answer that question. But when we were on Ainsdale beach on 18th June for an old school BBQ we found that there was now an attended kiosk at the entrance where you now have to pay to go on the beach, but he knocked off at about 5pm. That said most of the beach is now ropped off, from the entrance you can now only go along the beach for about half a mile in either directions.

Thanks guys.

Yep, you're right BP.

Went to look at the iron men on Crosby beach, very weird, and then on to Ainsdale.

Got there around 5.45, no one at the kiosk so we parked up on the beach and had a cuppa.

Ranger appeared flying up and down the beach so we asked politely if it was OK to stay overnight.
"Well shouldn't really but it will be OK and I'll tell my mate who is coming on duty in half an hour I've said it's OK"

45 minutes later after we had the Fiamma out, roof up etc and just about to start cooking said mate appears and basically told us to bog off. Explained we had asked and he says his mate is wrong and we can't stay overnight.
I understand if they don't allow it but they should get their stories straight.
Not a campsite to be had so just arrived back home.

Bloody good fish and chips in Ainsdale village though.

Tried that one and about half a dozen others but all full Brian.

Had a good day though and the sunset was brilliant.

I know its a bit late but maybe for the future if you get stuck again. http://www.formbypointcaravanpark.co.uk/ I have a static on this site and the touring pitches are rarely full. Colin

Tried that one too Colin.

In fact it was the first we tried as it looks really nice.

Quite surprised actually how few sites there around there.
