Suggestions wanted for good value exhaust replacement
Need to source replacement complete exhaust for '98 diesel as my current stainless steel one has gone at the joint on the rear of the back box (heap of crap from supplier in Leeds). Anyway, looking for good value bog-standard steel system, either fitted or supply-only. Many thanks.
Re: Suggestions wanted for good value exhaust replacement
Hi Simon....my super duper stainless exhaust did the same as yours....mine came from a supplier/maker in the midlands area....last a lifetime...
I got a full system from Bongo Towers...It made a big difference...loads quieter and a lot smoother.
Now the Bongo shop is closing down for the duration of the bash but I am sure that they act as agents for AVA Leisure so it might be worth contacting them direct.

when the rear box section fails like this on a stainless , you can repair without the box and go for a straight pipe section (cheaper) or replace the box with a new unit.
both of these can be done at your local powerflow stockist, look up your local one in the book.
this should be cheaper than replacing the whole system with standard steel.

Hi
What's the general opinion on exhausts?...do I get a complete stainless one sent over, or do I lop the back box off, and add a stainless one ? ( i just have an aversion to the dustbin on the back!).
Cheers
Helen

No chance of a warranty repair/replacement Simon? I thought most SS systems were guaranteed for lifeSimon Jones wrote:Need to source replacement complete exhaust for '98 diesel as my current stainless steel one has gone at the joint on the rear of the back box (heap of crap from supplier in Leeds). i had a stainless exhaust put on a landy a few years back wiyh a lifetime warrenty, but only valid if you had it inspected once a year for about £30 if i remember right, i never got it checked just thought they last forever and it was a con, dont have the landy anymore so dont know if its still ok.

Re: Suggestions wanted for good value exhaust replacement
I think it was a pre-production model as it certainly didn't fit when it arrived and I had to spend an extra £50 getting a new flexi section welded in to allow it to line up with the down pipe. It passed the MOT today, so that takes the pressure off for nowbigdaddycain wrote:No chance of a warranty repair/replacement Simon? AH! I see! I think i remember you posting about the exhaust when it was new Simon... (it looked great too as i recall) Couldn't the offending section be sleeved via seam welding? SS welds well....
(congrats on the MOT pass too) ![Applause =D>](./images/smilies/eusa_clap.gif)

Does their guarantee depend on an annual inspection by them?

No mention of annual inspection on the website or my Guarantee....missfixit70 wrote:Does their guarantee depend on an annual inspection by them?

Re: Suggestions wanted for good value exhaust replacement
Just had my first annual inspection of a Powerflow system. It was made clear that the Life Time guarantee was dependent on regular checks (backed by written evidence) but it does cover defects due to corosion or failure of the original welding/installation etc. Repairs/inspections can can be undertaken at any franchise holder.
