Does anybody know the cheapest way to travel to Northern Ireland by ferry with the bongo. Which route, time etc etc would be most helpful. We would like to go and visit the grandchildren near Lisburn so if anyone knows of any campsites near Belfast as well please.
Many thanks,
Jim and Culide

Re: ferry to Northern Ireland.
We spent 3 weeks going round Ireland (both north and south) last September - we went Stranraer to Belfast and returned the same way. It cost us just under £90 each way, this was via the Camping and Caravanning Club and it's worth noting that the discount we got on the normal fare was greater than the cost of membership (although we were already members). Stranraer-Belfast may not be the cheapest or quickest route if you're in Wales, but the C&CC cover all the main ferry routes.
We stayed in 2 different campsites in and around Belfast - the C&CC site at Delamont Country Park on the southwest shore of Strangford Lough which was tidy and smart and in a picturesque location but did seem a bit strict with the "do this, don't do that" posters ; and a small secure caravan park at the Dundonald Ice Bowl on the outskirts of Belfast which was very handy for Belfast sightseeing as it was on a direct bus route into the city. It was also near a food court and of course the Ice Bowl nearby has ice skating, crazy golf and 10 pin bowling! There was also a warden/handyman called Michael who gave us good "what to see" advice.
Best wishes,
Sue and Nigel
