What does the light on the dashboard mean "HOLD"

Hi, whilst driving today I noticed the word "HOLD" on the dashboard light display.........please can someone tell me what it means and how to I turn it on and of.

on the auto select is a buton it turns the hold on and off

There is a button on the side of the gear shift that you push to hold the bongo in a low gear, ideal for going down hill, then push it again to switch off.

You accidentaly pressed the hold button half way down the gear lever when changing gears. The Bongo driver's handbook will tell you all about using the Hold Button.
