dim side/rear lights and blown fuse8

HELP!!!
rear lights and sidelights [ which apparantly work off fuse 8 under bonnet ] are extremely dim [ 4.5 v showing at front sidelight. also rear fog is dim, and dashboard lights not working. fuse 8 keeps blowing. any ideas or anyone had similar problems?
any good auto electricians near chesterfield/sheffield reading this?

What year is your Bongo? - post Sept 2001 use different fuses for the rear lights.
Dashboard lights are fuse 10 in driver's footwell fusebox.
Dim lights sound like a bad earth somewhere.

If your before 2000 then this diagram applies;

All those lights are switched via the relay, but dim lights and blowing fuses suggests that you have a short somewhere after the relay, have you had any work done recently towbar kit or anything ? Might be worth checking all the lights involved and seeing if any of them have developed a short in the wiring behind the lamp or similar ......

hi - bongo is 98R recently had full side conversion fitted ! i can see all the ******* lot having to come out. only fuse blowing is 8 in engine comp - as for dashboard who knows????!!!! auto spark to be called ! i now have all good fuses bar 8 and dim tail/sidelights with no dashboard or front/rear fogs ! surely not all interconnected !? will let you know when sparky been.

Just off the top of my head.. Could also be a dodgy after market rear fog light.. Especially if its been tapped off the front fog circuit with no relay!!?? Seen that before....
