Putting back carpet after mending earthing on sender

Hi
The fact sheet on re-earthing the sender is great, but I'm loathe to just pull up the carpet, as I don't know how to put it back (sounds timid, I know, but I don't want to screw things up). To remove the carpet, do I have to remove any trim first? If so, how easy is it to put back?

Any assistance gratefully received.

Cheers

Its quite easy only trim i recall

is a plastic bit hold the end by the gate thats fixes with screws

oh and a blunt not sharp old flat bladed scraper helps to get it back under both sides

When I did mine I borrowed from my wifes haberdashery drawer one of her crochet hooks. With that I was able to pull the plastic off the floor so ast to secure more room for the carpet to slip under.

or if its an earth fault dont bother and just put a link from the chassis to the fuel tank. no messing with the carpet.

Is it as simple as that - just connect anywhere on the tank to the chassis?

Thanks to everyone who replied - I'll try earthing the tank first, then take up the carpet if that fails. The less I have to disturb, the happier I am.

Cheers
