break in - broken sliding door lock - help!

We were broken into while parked at a service station car park (overnight) and the sliding door lock has been utterly destroyed. Insurance is sorting this out, but looking at other posts I'm worried that it might take a long time for them to sort it out and we need the Bongo soon... Would the best thing be to get hold of a replacement lock ourselves and get someone to fit it? Would the insurance company's repairer fit it in lieu of an official replacement? What's the best way forward - any advice gratefully received.
And if you can spare a curse for the lowlifes that got us in this mess, that would be great too... A word of warning about the M18/M180 services where it happened - bit of a blackspot apparently.
If anyone can help with some advice, that would be great. Thanks so much.

1st things first.

I had an full lock set replaced on the insurance after a house break in & stolen keys 3 years ago which turned into a (still running) pain in the arse. at the time Lifesure assured me that it wouldn't affect my NCB as it was a No Fault Claim (?). That wasn't exactly true as my motorbike insurance this year has been loaded by an extra £160 because of an undisclosed claim from 2008 . . . . .

NIG had the Bongo recovered to their "Recommended Agent" UK Assistance, these Muppets are to be avoided at all costs as it took six weeks for them to get it sorted despite the fact that I had offered them a 2nd hand lock & key set the following day, they wanted to fit new. In the meantime, my insurance was coughing up £35 a day for what they euphemistically called a Courtesy Car but was in fact a tiny Kia, about the size of a wheelie bin. £300 a week for 6 weeks, nearly a grand for a genuine Mazda lock set, they made a few quid out of me & caused no end of grief. We all end up paying for these rip off deals in the long run.

You will have the option to nominate your preferred garage to undertake the repairs. PLEASE make sure you take this up & use one of the big guns that gets talked about on here. And get any protected NCB or word that its a No Fault claim in writing so it doesn't come back to bite you in the bum later on.

Thanks so much mister munkey; it's what I feared and what I need to know. Maybe you or someone else could advise - I've been looking at parts and I can find 'door lock barrel and key for passenger side' - would this be the correct part for the sliding door, or is that just for the front passenger door? Please excuse my ignorance!
And is this likely to be all I need? The lock looks like it has been drilled right through, it's now inoperable. Other central locking is working fine.
Thanks.

If you can get the door card off & see the back end of the lock, it will have a blob of coloured paint on it IIRC. (Red, yellow, blue or green). Each colour determines which door it goes in, the order of which I no longer remember.

If you can find out which colour is on offer & it matches yours - Thats the one.

Hello
Our local accident repair garage (the one the insurers had the vehicle taken to) is going to do the repair without it going on the insurance; first class service, they got back to me about it and suggested this. And they've sourced the parts already! So that is a load off; thanks for all the help.
Although I won't feel totally relaxed about it until it's sitting on the drive again...
