side door wont open from inside

hi
side door opens ok from outside but wont from the inside - having to climb over to get out the passenger door
any ideas ?

it works too well thats how it works,our dog used to flick the switch when getting in or out.
or ask karena-----she got locked in at a camp one night(i dont know how)
there is a little lever on the door edge, just lift it or lower it i cannot remember which, best to stick some tape over it to avoid accidental use, if you havnt got children.

Hi,
Maybe a stupid question but,could you not use the rear tail gate to exit the vehicle..?

This post got me wondering if there was a child lock on the tailgate door as I have never been able to get out that way from inside - the handle just refuses to turn. So I went outside and opened up the tailgate to see if there was a lock anywhere and noticed the "pull" sign. So I pulled and then turned and it duly opened.
Not sure if I feel more daft for never noticing it before, or for thinking there might be a child lock (why on earth would there be a child lock on the tailgate???).
Anyway, thank you ever so much for inadvertantly solving my problem

not all bongo's have a handle fitted to the rear door.

not an optional extra, i think a lot of the tin tops dont have the rear door handle fitted.
