Hi, if you have a japanese stereo then you can get an ariel booster adapter to pick up british radio stations but you'll be limited to what you can recieve. Most people change their Jap stereo for a good new head unit

thats what we did and no more problems

Probably need a new ISO connector off ebay (bout £1.75) to fit tho, dont spend £15 in halfords for it

Eyup Clampit's & welcome

~same as been said, your much better changing it than mess about with it cus with that you'll probably get around 4 station's & not very good quality at that.
Also (as been said) get your iso adaptor off ebay, very cheap compared to Halfords.
I got a cracking Kenwood (secondhand) radio/cd player off ebay last year for £30 so that's worth looking into also.

It's true that most change their radios but I used an extenders on the original for a few years without any trouble. They're cheap and as far as I remember worked well at least for the main stations. The only draw back is the dial reads the wrong frequency, can't remember by how much but if you have presets this doesn't matter anyway.
One good thing about doing it this way is noone will steal it lol
You'll end up changing it in the end but as an interim solution it can work and only costs a couple of pounds.

think you mean a band expander, readily available on fleabay etc japanese radio frequencies range from 70- 90, ours from 88-108, so in stock form there's only a 2Mhz overlap of 88(ours) to 90 (theirs) so you'll get radio 2 and maybe a few pirate stations

We've still got the original japanese radio in with mini disc & cd player. Its double the height of a normal radio though so I'm not sure how i can change it to a normal 'slim' one without needing some sort of spacing thing.
However we do get Radio 2, and it works fine with my ipod and one of those ipod transmitter type thingies so all is not too bad at the moment, but I probably will want to change it eventually, when I figure out what to do with the fact its going to leave a hole twice as big as a new radio.

Here you go Loopy

you need one of these when you put a single din radio in~it will fill the gap in for you.
