Temp reading

Our temp reading has always been just below midway ever since we got bongo over 3 years ago. Yesterday towards the end of a 100 mile run temp reading went down to about a quater of guage. Then back up again, then down and this went on for rest of journey. Heater seams fine and tm2 seams to be at normal temps on our van. Never went higher than it should be always lower. Any ideas what it might be?

suspect your thermostat is sticking open, then shutting, then sticking open.
may be a good idea to have the coolant and stat replaced, preferably with a gen mazda stat.

Hi al & chris,
I presume this is an unmodified gauge,if so worth checking the thermo transmitter wiring connection,if its been Mason modified worth checking the PCB connections for the gauge, and the edge connector for the PCB. .
If your TM2 is OK I would not suspect thermostat etc.
Cheers

Thought about thermostat but after a 100 mile run thought it would be fully open all the time. Guage is not modified so will look at the wire connections.
