Keep an eye out .........

My dear husband is off on one of his missions again tomorrow, this time to Widnes (and back) but not in my Bongo :D

If anyone sees a red G-reg Sierra looking lost or broken down, give the driver a cheery wave. If he doesn't wave back it's cos his hands are frozen to the steering wheel. The heater doesn't work

Hope he's alright. We had a heavy snow met office warning for today but it's all gone sludgey with rain now.

He hasn't left yet. He's at work and setting off when he finishes, about 11pm. I doubt he's bothered to look at the weather so I will let him know. Thanks for that.

PS I am not allowed to do his thinking for him, so I haven't looked at the weather either

I've now looked at the weather and I think he will be following the awful rain we've had for the last few days. If all goes to plan timing wise, he'll get a little bit of sunshine (as will many in the general north west area) and then probably have to drive west with the sun in his eyes all the way.

Can't win 'em all, I suppose.

Your hubby won't break down Alison... The Sierra is a Ford, and Ford's don't break down. =D> =D> =D> I'm surprised the heater doesn't work... Are you sure it's switched on?

I owned a Sierra     Oh the humanity!!!!

It may not breakdown but more likely to dissolve in into rust en-route

good luck 8)

An update. He didn't make the trip in the end as he was falling asleep at the wheel so he turned round and came home after about 30 miles. He had to be up there by 12.30pm so is going to try again next weekend with a little more preparation (ie more sleep!).

Ste, I daren't ask if he's switched the heater on. I'm not allowed to!! He caught me with my nose in his Haynes manual the other day ........ anyone would have thought I was going through his e-mails or his internet history or something   It probably is reliable but he's only had it a few weeks and he usually only buys lemons!

Rust? Not on this one - it appears to be in really rather good condition.
