If you think I’m going to sit for hours freezing my bits off trying to catch fish you’ve got another think coming, my idea of fishing is this....

Dockside fish wholesalers

....where we got 3kg salmon, 1.5kg scampi and about 2kg of firecracker spring rolls and
shu mais

Lancaster Golf Club clubhouse

Same goes for golf, a good walk spoiled
Now, as for snow-chasing, we’re here!!
After a sumptuous repast at the renowned Arnside chippy, we ventured north....

Looking north-east from Sandside, between Arnside and Milnthorpe, Cumbria

Sca Fell and Scafell Pike

Wast Water, Cumbria
The ice contest – Is it thick?.....

Yep, it’s thicker than Wayne Rooney

Some of the roads would be best described as "interesting", we were short of time (unusual, that, on a Muz Tour), there was one point where a woman watched, open-mouthed, as we approached a bridge at warp-speed, I'm sure she thought we were going to go straight through the wall
And Muz Jr was looking green in the passenger seat as we drifted through a cattle grid sideways
It was stunning up there though, we should have camped

Nice pics Muz. We are just back from staying at Windermere C & C site this weekend...... some of the roads were a bit 'scetchy' but well worth the trip. Fantastic walking day today!!! We only saw a couple of Bongos, you must have reached warp speed then

You'll enjoy, given the right weather. It can rain though, remember the lakes....

Yep, my idea of fishing is for them to already be dead and ready to cook

Any time. Peak Park Rangers have a habit of moving you on though, so you have to be cunning with where you pick

No, no time for that yesterday, we were only supposed to be going to Fleetwood and the detour to Arnside was over an hour each way. So a further detour to Wasdale Head would add another three hours to the trip so it was touch & go whether we could get there still with good daylight to work with. This wasn't aided by my navigator who will blame me pressing on too quickly but we missed a turn and then the roads were signed to a place called Wrynose - and anyone familiar with that neck of the woods would instantly realise that to get to Wasdale from there you would need to get over the Hardknott Pass - which was a giggle a couple of weeks ago but no chance yesterday, so we had to retreat and find the missing turn.
Having left home about 9am it took a bit of explaining to Mrs Muz & Muzette how it had taken us nine hours to get to Fleetwood & back. Roads were dreadful.....
