There seem to be a couple of postings on this (my error) so to consolidate things and post to the right area…

At the lovely Silverdale meet the other weekend there was interest for another Christmas do which we had last year at the Pheasant Inn, Allithwaite. We had a good turn out and an enjoyable evening.

We were able to park in the car park and the Pheasant left their doors open so we could use their loos. This year because the Pheasant has had a revamp and been extended it is not feasible for them to leave the premises open to us. Although we are welcome to park up in their car park for free.

However, this year there are 8 hook ups just up the road at the Allithwaite community centre (registered charity No 508931) available for £8 a night. The usual toilets, kitchen and shower will be available.

There will be a special Christmas 3 course meal available as well as their usual good menu. Landlord/Lady, Keith and Cath have confirmed they will do a breakfast on Sunday for us whatever the numbers. Chris and I will ferry anyone down to the pub on the Saturday and Keith will taxi us back up at the end of the evening. Please let me know if you require the breakfast on the Sunday.

Maybe make a weekend of it. Please let me know if you are interested.

Hi Neil,

there is/was a B&B in nearby Cark. Keith and Cath ran it but I am not sure whether they still do. Peg leg Pete and family stayed there last year. I will look into who has it now. I know the lease was up on it some time now. I will get back to you on that one.

Karen, I know, you have reached that certain age when you need creature comforts such as warmth of course you can have a hook up dear :D

   -dont say you wernt warned Brian.
oh dear no bingo - never mind just have to eat really good food and drink crabbies instead -I have to work saturday day at the dickeds (sorry i mean dickensian) market was going to do a quick dress change en route but cos i,m so old might not bother now - so long black dress with a special extra padded bit to make absolutely certain my bum looks big in it, frilly pinny and really stupid mop cap (whoever thought that was a good look) over strange long underwear it will be.
