Have you checked the oil level correctly? Jumping in & out of gear when cold is a classic low oil level scenario - usually worse in reverse. Check the level with the engine running in park after short drive. If you can't drive it check it as it is but make sure you have the engine running. If it is low top it up a road test it. If all OK start looking for the leak (commonly cooler pipes).

I must agree. I had what sounds like the same problem, and it did come down to low oil in the gearbox. Fingers crossed [-o<

Accordin 2 my better half its deffo the gearbox 1 ordered 4 tues [-o< needed bongo 4 sun night !! so if u see me sleepin on a park bench in southampton please pass quietly lol
