Bongo Fury

I've had a willington leisure kit installed for a couple of months and was just checking the engine which was off and noticed the green LED was on. I can't check the install doc at the moment but if i remember rightly the relay LED should come on after i start the engine providing a circuit to the leisure battery, as it stands with the relay closed at the moment when parked up i'll be draining both batteries which means theres a fault - prob the relay .. is that correct ?

I had a problem with mine the other week (the relay had packed up) and I contacted Martin via EBay and found him to be very helpful indeed (I sent it back to be fixed and with his efficiency and that of the Royal Mail, it was back almost by return). I suggest you contact him too.

There was a bit of a chat at the bash about this, maybe he's had some bad luck with a bad batch of relays?

Contact Martin before you do anything, he may give you enough guidence to take the relay out with out disturbing the rest, yourself.

Ditto here. Relay stopped cutting in. Contacted Martin, and he assisted with diagnosis. Once it was confirmed dead he sent an advance replacement, and paid for my postage when I sent the duff one back. This is six months after I bought it. My only concern is that there do seem to be a lot of these failures, as mentioned above it may be a bad batch issue. Martin is certainly giving out excellent customer service and is investigating what is going wrong with these relays. He certainly has an excellent product and reputation to defend.

Edit : Due to the decent design of this kit, the replacement of a relay takes about 10-20 mins depending on how fat your fingers are. Mine are fat and I did it in about 10.

Must agree, I had an issue a couple of month's ago but Martin sorted the problem out with a FIRST CLASS SERVICE.

I had an auto electrician fit mine, and got him to take just the relay off and do whatever was necessary to keep everything on the straight and narrow (don't know what he did, but it only took 5 minutes). Got said auto electrician to put the relay back again and test everything. I think in total the whole two visits only took about 15 minutes. Being an honest chap, he only charged me for 15 minutes. Worth a try?

As a matter of interest to those of you who are wondering about a bad batch of relays, I'd had mine about a year.

Bakey had a problem with his fridge at the bash - draining the battery, which Madmile sorted.
At first look under the bonnet it looked like the green light was on on the willinton, which was a bit wrong, but then we (or Ed) realised it wasn't on, but just the bright sun shining on it, making it look like it was on.
Just a thought.

Um no it was pitch black and the LED is definitely on, thanks tho.

I've been in touch with martin and he is helping me out ..

I have an early one, (without the green led), and havent had a problem with it since getting it about 2 and half years ago, its been on both my bongos and worked purrrfectley

Where's this green LED then? Can't see one anywhere. Mine's about 18 months old - maybe its one of the old types?
