Bongo Fury

Hiya. At last our Bongo is on the horizon, we pick it up on Saturday. It is a new import. How long do you reckon it should take a garage to fit a coolant alarm and imobiliser? We only have a few days before we want to drive south in it. Cheers

For the LCA, do it yourself, very simple and the instructions are spot-on............takes about 1 hour comfortably , don't know about the immobilizer though

Coolant alarm is under an hour if you have a moderate level of ability, I would have thought that most immobilisers would be installable within an hour.

whereabouts are you and if you pass this way I will do it for you (the LCA only)

Afraid I don't have a smidgen of ability. But thanks a garage should be able to do it quickly then.

cat 1 alarm and immobilizer should take no more than 3 hours to fit

Took me a couple of hours to fit my coolant alarm, I must be rubbish

Couple of hours? (bloody showoff) Took me all day.
But then again, I'm probably at the same level of competence as Annandale and even then it took 2 phone calls to Haydn to get it right

The major part of that was deciding where to put the led, didnt want to put it in a switch so came up with this

depends on the make of them both....some are easier than others....

took me two days,
got rained of half way through, two days later connected the power leads, spent the next hour trying to figure out why the low water alarm was going off, until i saw this black wire hanging next to the footrest,

I'm with the slow coaches. I do the job quicker (and better) if I don't rush. But still, not a long job, and I too opted for a good location on the instrument panel, at the H end of the temp gauge:

Had a mobile fitter round to do mine, and like you say, it took around 3.5 hours.
