A possible meet in North Lincolnshire

Hi all,

I've met some lovely people who are willing to host a Bongo meet, this summer, in, what I believe is called the Lincolnshire Wolds.

It's a working farm, set in absolutely beautiful countryside. They've got space for about 30 Bongo's, together, with another "overspill" area. There's a 15KVa genny we can use and set up some mains hook-ups, there's an open barn availablewith a BBQ, potato steamer, Bar, 3 basic loos, water supply and loads to do. Site will be flat, but it's not all level, so a bit of wood might be needed under the wheels to level the vans up 8)

The lady at the farm does lots of therapies, and would love to run some workshops on the stuff she and her friends do.

Here's the idea........

Bongo weekend July or Sept .... I don't want to clash with anyone elses, so let me know what's already on. August is harvest time,so is out.

Sat afternoon and Sunday morning .. run therapy workshops for those interested (there's even dog grooming so the pets can get pampered too :D )
All weekend
- The owner will build a cycle trail (2 miles?) for a bit of a trek to keep the older kids happy
- There will be a "magical mystery" walk for the young ones through the woods - storytelling etc
- a couple of horses for rides and how to groom etc
- a real ale bar set up in the barn
- a sat eve bbq laid on with music / dancing? (anyone want to do some live stuff?)
- Bonfires in the woods
- plus the usual Bongo good banter!

The cost would be a camping price per Bongo for the weekend, a small extra cost for the mains hook-up (mebbe 10 could have mains?), and a price per head for those wanting the BBQ sat eve. They have even offered to do cooked breakfast if there's interest. The therapies would also have a reasonable cost attached.

I don't know of a meet in this part of the world ( I may be wrong  , I often am), but they are such lovely people, (I have just spent the evening with them discussing what is needed), that they are willing to lay a path across their garden to shorten the distance to the loo's!

This could be a great weekend for our ladies to be pampered, and let the boys talk Bongo'ese as much as they want! :D

Should I organise it? Anyone interested, and what dates are best for people?

Sounds like a gift from the Gods Iain. =D>

This could be the start of something BIG!!

Deffo in mate, september would be better to give us (& them) enough time to organise our busy schedules.

We're up for a test drive there anytime you like in the near future.

Hi Chris,

I called back there last night, to see the genny, and sort out the wiring for the hook-ups. I can't believe how keen they are - he wants to bring loads of the harvested straw bales in by the barn for seating, and leave a load more for the kids to try building a house with! If the stables aren't full (they're brand new), they thought about letting the youngsters have a sleepover in one, They've got fire pits in the woods, a valley to explore, and, the best bit, is 'cos it's not a campsite, there's no problem with how many arrive, (within a few constraints), what date it is, and noise isn't a prob, talk was of tring a mini Glastonbury there!

:D :D :D

This has got to happen, I'll take you over for a recce.

Iain

He was talking about having hay (straw?) bales available after harvest - Could that be it, Karen?
