Carl,many years ago,before I was a Plod,I was an Ickey.

When ours were little, the wife used to bring em to the station with the neighbors kids

And we`d give em a quick hose down

We used to take the baby bath and fill it up in the shower or we'd go to only C&CC sites where there was definitely a family room.

Worst case is to buy a plastic box/tray and use that?

Bathing is overrated but at a push - washing up bowl!

I do like the baby bucket, but it'd be a bit tricky with a small baby. As you said, a washing up bowl is fine when they're that small. If you're on a campsite with toilets, you can use the sink.

I agree with mobilecat, bathing is overrated.

However, there's a good selection of baths on here http://www.google.co.uk/products?hl=en& ... CDIQrQQwAA but you'd need to find somewhere to put it. Some campsites are now catching on to the popular continental idea of actually having baby baths in the toilet blocks, ie large baby bath sized sinks with a shower attachment instead of a tap.

Although Isaac was past the bathing stage when we started camping again, if we stayed somewhere with just a shower I did the "important little places" using a bowl or sink of water with him lying on a changing mat, and then took him in the shower with me to finish the job.

When I say past the bathing stage, I don't mean he stays dirty - he can use a shower now

Actually the tummy tubs are superb from really tiny babies. We had one for minimc. Basically you pop their legs in and they automatically sort of sit up in a fetal position so its really easy for you keep them safe without physically taking their weight. I sold mine for a profit :)

We had a tummy tub for ours as well, a great invention, he was in it till he was about 9 months. He is nearly 3 now so we just birdbath him then shower every few days. You could always go swimming at the local pool i guess

That's good to hear. :) I was thinking it may be a struggle to get a small slippery baby back out.

We use the large storage boxes (two fit in the area behind the rear flip up seats), which travel in the boot and hold the sleeping bags and some pillows to bath our little un (18 months). The last time we did this, I left a solar shower out all day for the hot water. Perfec'.

Ok tight yorkshire person speaking - a small blow up childs dinghy - which could then double up - as a small childs dinghy when she gets older.
