Renew Fuel Seals. Less fraught!!!! Easier????

OK. this more long winded but less fraught.

1. Renew the seal on the outside in the usual way. Remembering to retain the springs inside the top hat and being careful about the inverted bottle cap washer, ensure it is seated correctly.

2. Disconnect the battery.
3. WHere the pump flange meets the rear of the timing housing mark it with some tipex or similar.

4. Undo the 3" bar securing the injection pipes to the engine and remove it.

5. WIth a 12 m/m socket on a 9" extension undo the nuts securing the pump to the timing cover one complete turn.

6. The pump will now rotate toward you giving easier access to the blanking plate. Use a cranked 10 m/m ring spanner or socket to undo them.

7/ replace seal, blanking plate, rotate pump to original position tighten 12m/m nuts replace the bar securing the injection pipes.
