Hello there everyone,
Just a post to introduce ourselves (though some of you may remember us from the Silverdale meet last October when we were looking round some of your bongos, many thanks for that it was very helpful!)
We have just got ourselves a bongo - it's a green 1996 4WD diesel AFT from JAL, with a side conversion from Ed (Madmile) at Celtic Motorhomes, and it's fab! We collected it from Wales last Monday and slept in it that night, then headed off down to Somerset for a few days just to try it out and enjoy the glorious weather. Here are some photos...
Nige feeding swans and red breasted geese at Slimbridge:
Ernie our bongo with his roof up:
Nigel demonstrating the bed:
Breakfast in Ernie:
Coming down off Glastonbury Tor:
Sue sampling the Chalice Well water in Glastonbury (it tastes very metallic due to the high iron content):
The very impressive Glastonbury Abbey (Henry VIII has a lot to answer for...)
What we look like in the flesh (taken at Wookey Hole):
Six Nigels - also at Wookey Hole:
We had a great time and are looking forward to many more adventures with Ernie - and some bongo meets in the near future.
Nigel and Sue

Re: We've got a bongo!
Welcome, your Bongo has arrived in the nick of time for the midsummer glut of Bongo meets. Hill of Oaks is all booked up but if you are a club member I believe that an odd place or two is still available at the Scottish Bongo Bash in Kirkcudbright on 14th to 16th of May. Not too far from your neck of the woods, see you there if you make it.

Hi Tony,
Kirkcudbright would be great but unfortunately we're off down to Cornwall (in Ernie!) to a friend's wedding that weekend.
Will try to get to a meet a bit later on though.

Welcome roofraisers and congrats on getting Bongoed. Love your avatar name (or would except my roof won't raise at present so every time I read a post from you I'm liable to cry )
