Bongo Fury

As I'm progressing with stripping out all the rear heater gubbins (Climate control model), I've been checking to see what bits are compatible.
Rear motor & fan, doesn't look like it'll go straight in the front, but I'm sure with a bit of firkling it could do the job, bonus being, it lives inside the bongo & is not exposed to all the moisture the front one is, doesn't tend to get used as much either, so, if it can be made to fit, it'd be a reasonable source of good fan motors for the front from scrappers or converters.
Rear heater control module, slightly different code on it but it looked the same size & has the same 3 pin connection, so I tried it, works fine on all speeds left it in for now to make sure it does work ok, had to fit it turned around 180 degrees for the locating pins to line up, but no difference other than that. Not sure if the manual heater control resistor pack will be compatible in the same way, but worth checking.
The actuators for mode & heater flaps look to be the same too (2 of them in the rear)

The only thing that may be different is the spindle bits that clip onto the actuators, but they just clip out.
I haven't checked to see if any of the rods & clips are the same yet.
There were a couple of relays in there too, I think at least one of them looks very similar to the ones for the lights on the inside of the passenger wing & were rated the same ( I took these off ages ago, I've forgotten details).

Didn't get as far as blanking off the coolant to the heaters, got to find/make some plugs tomorrow as well as finding a way to blank off the A/C lines, but at least I got something done & know it can be done

Don't suppose you took any pics of the rear heater unit when taking it out? or perhaps you may remember the arrangement.
When the flaps are positioned for NO HEAT in the back, are there any passages that release the unused heat to the outside? (cooling system related question)
What I was wondering is does the heat get dumped to atmosphere when not being used to heat the van?

There is no external air inlet or outlet in the rear Steve, it's all sealed inside the "well", no external access other than where hoses, connections & bolts go through. Hence it be no great loss to the cooling system, it's an "add on"

Don't think so Kirsty, the front one has 4 positions the rear one only 3 positions;

Dare I ask as why you are removing your rear heater?
Is it possible to fit a U-tube to the supply and return feeds?
Hopefully this would remove/isolate any leaks from the rear heater unit and its hoses but still allow the coolant to circulate round the vehicle

You don't need the coolant circulating round the rear heater circuit, it's an "add on", Bongos were supplied without rear heaters blanked at the points I blanked mine.
