Pyle stereo/dvd/cd/receiver

Has anyone out there got or had a Pyle 7.0" wide system in car entertainment unit?
The problem I have is that the unit does exactly as it says on the tin except that when I turn off the ignition the system display still shows the last info displayed even though all audio/visual output ceases. I know that the unit has to have a permanent 12v supply for the internal memory but I would have thought that when the ignition was off the display would be blank or at the most only display the internal clock time.
I have pulled the power plug from the back and the display dissappears and when I reconnect it the unit works as expected for 3 or 4 times then reverts back to the above.
