HELP!! Rear Axle Oil seal / hub removal

Hi I'm after some help quick sharp.

My 2WD AFT is in the garage at the moment - failed MOT on rear axle leaking oil onto disc. I bought the inner and outer seals from the Bongo shop for the garage to use. They just called me to say they cannot figure out how to get the rear hub off!

They aren't new to the Bongo but I don't think they've ever had to do one of these.

Can anyone help? I need to get back to them asap.

Thanks in advance.

This may have come before - have you had a proper search on here. Might be worth it while you are waiting for a Bongo techie to reply in case it turns up anything 8)

I have searched the forum high and low but can't find nowt. I found the exploded digram of the axle assembly but doesn't really help much.

The garage I'm using even rang up Mazda and they didn't seem to have a clue either!

I'm a wee bit stuck. Any techies out there can you help?

Thanks

Try putting 'seal AND axle' in the search box. Here's two that came up at once:

http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... =seal+axle

http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... =seal+axle

good luck [-o<

Hi bongoSI,

Tell your mechanic.

This is just a normal rear axle, remove all parts to expose the 3 nuts or set screws that hold the back plate to the axle. Then draw the shaft.

Ps,it would be worth while asking your mechanic to check the diff breather also.
