Hi,
Sorry if covered before, but ive read how to check the scavanger fan if its working or not by unplugging the sensor, run the engine and they should come on. does the front radiator fans also come on by doing this?
So if i unplug this sensor and run the engine and nothing happens, what do i do to fix this, and get them all running again?
Thanks in advance

For the rad fans it is the 2 wire sensor further back & lower down above the outet hose to the heater which is above the starter motor, unplugging it with the engine running should bring the fan/s on, also switching on the a/c should bring on the fans. This doesn't test whether the sensor is working obviously.
If the fans don't come on, check fuses & connections, I think there is a factsheet on repairing rad fans.

Your fan sensor might be at fault then Ron... make sure you replace that lead as you'll have no glowplugs in the morning otherwise!

That link is not for the rad fans, it's for the ventillation fans. It must have been a post on t'forum I saw re the rad fan repair, can't find it as yet.
Falcoron, when you put your aircon on with the engine running does the rad fan come on?
If you are relying on your rad fan to cool your engine during normal use (especially in this cold weather) I suspect you have other problems rather than the fan itself, ie rad blocked, stat not opening properly. personally I wouldn't drive it until you get this sorted.
They are a bit of a trawl to read thorugh, but these threads should help you understand a bit better what should be going on with your cooling system

Found the link I was looking for,
From this thread -
http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... fan+repair
unfortunately the links are dead, may be worth contacting Jon 41, unless anyone happened to save a copy of the info? It certainly should have been a factsheet.

Thanks guy's
Im gonna redo a dump, flush, dump, refill clean water, dump, new stat, refill with coolant, bleed and check all the fans and sensors. hopefully i can get this sorted once and for all. Unfortunatly i cant afford a new rad at the mo but i am gonna get one before the season starts just to be sure. So by then i should be well up on the bleed procedure.
Ste, I have replied to your PM mate, thanks a million, top bloke

Reminder to self: "Must read more carefully".

Ron maybe you could create a Rad fan factsheet from photos of the work you're about to do and the info from the link?
