i bought some blanks, to blank the erg , now these are not quite the same shape as the place where they are going to fit,
theres a small bit of the blank which sticks out .
when i came to do the job, the existing seals ? have the same sticking out bit , so does this mean its already been blanked ??
or are the seals/plates what ever they are called , not blanks ,and the shape is normal .
or do i have to take it to bits to find out ???? nooooooooooooooooooooo, nooooooooooooooooooo.

Is it gasket material sticking out or metal.
If metal then it's probably blanked?
Only one way to find out................

Does this help?
http://www.lushprojects.com/bongopartsm ... mgno=.html There should be a gasket in the joint so it could be that you are seeing.

Blanks and real gaskets (with a hole in the middle) are the same overall shape. The sticky-out bits are so you can move them around when re-assembling to get the holes to line up for the bolts.

Take the front one out - it's pretty easy. The one at the rear of the head is more fiddly.

When I blanked mine the existing gaskets were very thin stainless and sticking out as you describe. So , only one way to be sure, take a look at them.
