auto blind not working

Just got fab bongo last December and now picking up a few little issues with it. Can anyone help on this one? The automatic blind on the sliding door won't go up and down like all the others. Any ideas as to what it might be? Is there a quick fix?

Hi Ma woo,

Do they all work OK from the front switches..?

Also, this might be a silly question.. But have you tried the rear passenger side blind to see if it works OK too?

If you find it DON'T it could be a fault with the front switch that controls the two blinds on that side..? If so, I can be an easy fix... :D

I do know if the sliding door switch is disconnected, that whole side won't work!

I've been experimenting with them... http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... 98&start=0

If both on one side aren't working then make a check of the fuses, each side of the van is covered by a single fuse.
The two fuses are on the top row, 6th and 7th from the left,15 Amp Blue coloured, down by the drivers right knee.

I have looked and it is only the one blind in the first row of rear seats on the passenger side *(over the sliding door). So that doesn't sound like a fuse if you say both would be effected. I think it whirrs too with no movement - so is something stuck? Don't want to take the blind apart as have no experience of doing that. May be a bongo garage job? I will check the fuses tho - thanks

If it's whirring, then it doesn't sond like it's the fuse, either something's stuck, check the track, it may be fairly obvious, or the mechanism may have come adrift?

There is a Factsheet on cleaning the blinds that explains how to undo them etc., if your a member of the club itself.

Thanks for all your advice. I now know that it does not whirr (that was what my hubby said ) but it didn't whirr when I did it. The blind I can pull up and down manually gently pretty easily like all the others so it does not seem to be stuck.

Maybe it is something to do with a local mechanism that drives the curtain up and down the grooves? I will take a look at the part you mentioned to me. If not ,can anyone recommend a local garage in Hampshire area that might be able to fix it?

I really hope it is something simple!

I have taken a look at that part and yes, reckon that might be the problem!
In which case - may have to get someone to fit new one for me - where can I source it? ON bongo fury? - I am a member but don't remember seeing such parts available

:?

You'd probably get one off a breaking Bongo. BF members 'ebygum32' and 'tonic' are both breaking Bongos at present and may be able to help, but you'd need to identify exactly what it is you need then send them a PM (private message). Otherwise, breakers like Bellhill may be able to help 8)

Update your profile (user control panel top right of screne) with your location & there may be someone near to you that can help locate the problem and/or part.

There are two wires that go from the switch in the loom above the door to a white connector that leads to the motor.. (one is a pinky purple colour that drives the blind up, i forget the other one that pushes it down.) You should be able to access it by pulling the trim out gently after unscrewing the grab handle above the door (There should be four clips holding the trim in place at the top.) & you should find it just above the switch to the right of the blind motor in a cavity behind the trim..?

I would try disconnecting that & meter testing for continuity..?
