Eyup everyone--sorry it's me again--in my new Bongo theres a SatNav/TV screen thingy :? :? :? as you can see in the pics it lights up & display's (some rubbish)--- your probably going to say--chuck it in the bin--but it's quite a novelty factor so if possible i'd like to keep it in--having said that if theres no way it's going to work properly i might as well take it out------also i disconnected my 12volt battery to paint battery tray on reconnecting found that the radio does'nt work but the satnav thing does.

Is the satnav thing & radio on same fuses?? cus radio worked ok before --thanks in advance.

Disconnnecting the battery has lost the radio's memory - probably just needs retuning to pick up the Japanese channels again. You can get a band expander which will allow it to work in the UK, although the programs won't be where you're expecting them #-o TV is useless over here :( No idea about satnav, unless you can get the relevant software for the UK. As you correctly said, best to bin it and get a proper one 8)

Cheers John--when i took the battery out of my last Bongo then put it back the radio came straight back on---so i expected this one to :? :? I'm going (eventually) buy a new Radio but would rather see this one work albeit crap   just to be sure wiring etc; is ok.

Mine had AV inputs, Ideal for plugging in an Ipod.
You can also playback from a digital camera, if you set the output to NTSC.
The only use for the sat nav was for marking speed cameras, press down on the joystick as you pass one
and next time it makes a noise as you approach, well It did on mine.

Sat Nav should work OK with the correct maps, the CD shows it to be a Clarion system so you ought to be able to find updated software somewhere on the web. The screens says its a TV monitor so I would expect the Satnav box to have AV outputs, its possible to but the GPS boxes on their own. Whatever you do don't bin it.

I'd get hold of a Japanese Super Nintendo (Super Famicom) for a spot of in-Bongo retro gaming!!! :D

Ok, I'd find a fluent japanese speaking auto electrician or press all the buttons until works

Seriously as per previous posts, does it have a separate AV input? Maybe use it with a freeview box, ipod or reverse cam etc?

Best of luck :)

Could it be the radios disabled when the top bit of big screen gubbins is switched on..?

Jaylee,
Is the Radio now completely dead, or does it light up? Can you get hiss through the speakers if you try the TV?
Radio should work when screen is in use, but screen takes over if on TV or AV.
