Hi,
Saw some alloys listed specifically for the mazda bongo 4x4 asked about the load rating on the tyres (as you should) was told the tyres were provided from a well known national tyre company especially rated for the mazda bongo 4x4 and that the seller was sattisfied they were correct!!
Pressed a little further gave full tyre size, which I did not think was good enough load rating and said as much (but stand to be corrected by you guys and apologise if need be to the seller) - This is the size given for the tyres whats your thoughts please- 225-40ZR18 88W Max Load 560kg (1235Lbs) Max Pressure 44psi. Hope this helps, as I say these tyres were bought with the wheels specifically for the 4X4 Bongo

Thankyou its as I thought!! and said as much but the seller thinks they know best as they were fitted by a national big tyre company, Even went so far as to suggest about the possible buyers Insurance becoming null and void following any possible incident, but got the same answer back.
Guess its buyer beware!!

Don't think Dotz make my wheels anymore (not in the current catalogue), but they were £541 with 225/50x17 98W XL rated tyres from Rochford Tyres (via Ebay).

88W is about the worst rated tyre I have ever even heard of being put on a bongo. I see quite a lot of 92's which is unacceptable all round. but 88 is taking the mick.
I also think a 40 profile ends up making it look a little under tyred.....then again they are easier to get and cheaper so you can see the reason they get fitted

.

I think they just look wrong for some reason, they look really good on John's, maybe it is the fact that the tyres just look way too thin, or maybe they only work with it lowered & kitted
Either way, the tyres ain't bongo tyres. No wonder whoever bought the bongo didn't want em.

I've contacted the seller to tell them that those tyres would invalidate the insurance if fitted to a Bongo. Hopefully, if they've got a conscience, they'll remove or amend the listing.

only £275 delivered without tyres from the Dotz website
http://www.dotz-alloys.co.uk/p1020246.htm
if you can get 4 tyres for about £50 a corner that still works out cheaper than the used ones on fleabay
cheers jim

Those are 17", the ebay ones are 18", but I think the 17's may look better & tyres'll be cheaper, you may get 17's for £50 a corner but you'd struggle to get correctly rated 18's for that.

Thanks John, I also tried to tell of the insurance companys possible reaction to the tyres, and the fact these tyres could result in an accident, my reply was that they were supplied by a big national tyre company especially for a 4x4 bongo and they were happy with that.
My personal view is they are being sold stating on the advert that these are suitable for a 4x4 bongo any mishaps occuring because of the under rated tyres should be the sellers responsibility even after a sale.
The tyre details were added to the ebay sale following my contact with the seller, and they again repeat there claims to the suitability of them.
