Hey folks,

Just a quick question about the brakes on our Bongo. Over the last week I have noticed a juddering sensation when applying the brakes which has started to get a little worse.

I doubt I have warped a disk but its a possiblility

Any advice is greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance

Ralph

check for spider cracks in the discs or a large crack from the hub part of the rotor to the edge. Check the front rotors and if you don't see anything, check the inside edge of the rotors with a torch - or up on a ramp.

I once completely cracked both front discs (mind you: it was a trackday subaru) and you get a continuous juddering when applying the brakes.

I had quite bad brake judder when braking from speed - slip roads off motorways, dual carriageways etc.

I replaced the front disks and pads. The discs had no obvious faults that you could see - but research on brake judder talked of hot spots and uneven run-offs. New pads and discs sorted it. Just make sure you clean the hub and back of the new disc of any rust or debris perfectly to avoid causing the same problem again. Got pads and discs from AVA - free postage through ebay too.

When my front discs needed replacement, I bought the disks and pads from a place in Coventry, Parts cost 60 sqids, and then got Quik fit to do the job and they charges 45 squids.

That sorted the grounching noise.
