My 'starting' battery has finally given up ( its a Panasonic, so probably original 1995!)
I cant see what the amperage and cca is.
Can someone please let me know what size they managed to fit comfortably in the battery tray please.
regards lochan2

Hi Lochan, Long time no see.

UKB 249, 5 series 90Ah. No name on Battery itself, just the..... Type 249.

This give JIS to UK/EU numbers.......... http://www.yuasa-battery.co.uk/automoti ... ssref.html

As Donald says 068 for normal use (most Jap batteries are large cases yet same or lower CCA/Ah as the 068) or if you feel you need a bit more grunt then 249....... but then most only last 3-4 years......

Go to a Motor factor not Halfrauds and the like...... the battery will be 1/2 price...

I got a 95Ah from batman .co.uk, delivered at a good price.

Ian used to sell a 105Ah that fits the Bongo.

But the bigger the AmpHr the better I reckon (don't lecture me on CCAs please anyone [-X  ) as it pays off in the long one. I have a (personal) suspicion hat some glowplug probs may be in part due to an inadequate battery not maintaining voltage to the plugs while cranking the engine. Shoot me down someone   8)

Fits our battery tray a treat (one of two winter spec-Bongo battery trays - check yours before buying). Spins the motor like it's a wee sewing machine. 4 years guarantee.

Enter "Mazda Bongo" in the Batman "On-line Batteries" search form, and it lists 22 batteries for different Mazda models. Number 22 is "Batman Ref 249" for Bongo, £66/standard, £76/heavy duty - no specs given. VAT to be added (see Info page), so total prices are £77.55/standard, £89.30/heavy duty.

The link works and shows.......... DIN: 595 104 068 or 595 404 083 as equivalent batteries only differences being A/h in the main, some are CCA different but some with a lower CCA have a longer cranking life.....

You pays yer money........ but they all have similar operational lives and guarantee periods....
