Help! - Boost Pressure control switch error...

The story so far...

1) I lost accelaration and the glow plug light started flashing.
2) The bongo friendly garage said that the error code was reading 'wastegate' issues (critical error to turbo section)
3) I had the turbo replaced. (£1,100)
4) The accelaration returned, but was still sluggish and hessitates before kicking in. Infact if anything I seam to get more power when I decelerate, rather than accelerate)
5) Went through the diagnostic advice by bongo fury members and discovered a loose fog light fuse.
6) fixed this which gave me 130 miles without the glowplug light flashing, then it returned.
7) Returned the van to the bongo friendly garage for further fault code reading.

Present day.

The fault code is comming out as 'Boost pressure control valve' [ x1228 ]

The garage tells me that the Boost pressure valve was seized, and that they unseized it, but the same error code keeps reoccuring. Their computer is now telling them that the turbo and the valve are both operating correctly, but the error code persists.

My garage is stuck and no idea how to proceed. Ford and mazda dealerships have refused to help them. In fact they rung round a few garages and were told 'dont touch it with a barge pole'

So I'm on my own again. Bongo fury is the only avenue left open to me.

Cross fingers someone knows what to do!

There's a pipe coming from the inlet manifold which connects to the boost pressure diaphragm on top of the fuel pump - this gives extra fuel under turbo boost. It attaches at 1320 on the manifold in the diagram

and at 1320 to the pump in this diagram

Are you suggesting that the pipe could be loose, or blocked, damage or collapsing?
or just that I check it over?

I've had a look for a pipe that connects the inlet manifold to the fuel pump, but my set up looks different to the diagrams.

The only pipe I can see is the one I have indicated

Image

am I in roughly the right place?

I cant see a pipe that connects the way the diagrams suggest...

Ah...............you've got a new type "fly by wire" pump - don't know what they've got - but guess all controlled by an ECU

I meant to ask earlier in the thread what pump you had, but forgot
