I bet you would need to buy a donor vehicle to get all the bits, I imagine there's a heck of a lot of stuff needed. Start from the front wheels and work back - Uprights, hubs, shafts, diff, gearbox? transfer box?

i agree with graham

i think it would be cheaper and easier to sell your 2wd and buy a 4wd

...and 2WD are sought after, as many don't want the complexity etc. that comes with 4WD as they don't need what it does

Strange cos I didn't find mine bad (though its not hilly in my locality). Maybe get some snowchains or a pair of studded tyres for next time (must try and research if either of those could make any sense esp. bearing in mind the car would be on and off ice/snow free roads)!

A lot depends on your tyres. If you've got budget priced summer tyres fitted, they'd hardly give any grip in the weather we've just had, until you'd done a bit of travelling and the compound had warmed up - still wouldn't be good though

Same here Mike, coped ok. My Pagero had stud less ice tyres on it.
