Bongo Fury

Had Bongo since 2007 but never had to use forum to post question. Central locking only works on drivers door at the moment. Just wondered if anyone else has had this problem. My thoughts are that condensation has got in the electrics somewhere. Will it dry out and work again or do I need to spend hard cash on new drivers door loom and control box. Many thanks in advance and Merry Xmas.

As far as I am aware, the central locking only works from the drivers door. Dont think there is anything wrong with yours.

Yep - I'm sure mine only does from the drivers door too.

Sorry folks probably did not explaine properly .Central locking operated from some kind of servo in drivers door, accepted. Mine always worked flawlessly until this cold snap. Now only drivers door opens on remote. Have read about older wiring cracking so have taken door panel of and wiggled loom but with no result. Have read somewhere on the forum of control box, thought this could be problem. Only trouble box appears part of the loom in drivers door and costs about £180. Any thoughts.

If the problem is wiring it will probably be between the door and opening.

Is it wired in to the main battery, or have you got a leisure battery with circuits changed over to that? could be the voltage has dropped?
If not I'd go with the wiring between door & body, should be possible to repair & replace individual wires with a bit of firkling.

when I first got mine I had to use the key in all doors to open and lock but found out through the forum that there should be a relay behind the glove box had a look and it was missing so I got one on ebay and hey presto it worked ,Colin

I would be looking at the drivers door loom, sounds like yer remote is working fine...? (I'm assuming the remote CL is an after market system?) There is (if i remember correctly) a white connection block in the middle of the door with two wires on it, if you remove the door card.. I would be getting at this with a meter/tester before pulling the door loom cover off...
The voltage will switch between these two wires depending on locked or unlocked by manually lifting or pushing down the drivers lock button on the door.. & start from there? Good luck!

£180 seems a lot unless youve got something else included with it. As posted about in previous talks you can get a new complete system of ebay for less than £25.

From experiance probably the actuation servo bar/rod for the alarm/keyfob.
Over a period of time the it works itself loose on the clamping screws.
Would try manually ie key in lock to lock the doors ,gonna be doorcard off more than likely anyways.

if it is the above i have a spare one as i got it thinking thats what it was but in the end it was the wiring loom at the drivers door wich seems to be the most common problem

Thanks for all the replies. I think my central locking is the standard fit with Bongos. It came with a key fob for remote central locking when I bought the vehicle from Bell Hill. There is a recieving wire ariel type device hid in the drivers door rubber. I don't really want to fit a off the shelf new system as I am no auto electrician but not bad at just replacing parts. Will take the door card off again after Christmas when weather warms up and have another delve into the mystery. Will let you no how I get on.

It sounds like more a repair, than a replacement to me!
Where bouts in Bristol are you OGS? (Roughly.)

i have the same trouble and found out that the central lockin module has decided to pack in ,
its the white multiplug box under the glove box and if you contact people on ebay you can get a replacement for around £35 delivered

The best of luck with your problem OGS... And a very merry christmas to you... I had this problem occur once,the leisure battery was flat.
