Just passed MOT again. Shows emissions test of 0.46 [m-1]. Up from 0.44 last year. What exactly does this mean? Is it good, bad or what?

From the Emissions fact sheet:
"The actual limits are a meter reading of 1.5m or less on the first acceleration. If this fails, then a further two accelerations need to be conducted. The average of the three readings must be below 3.0m for a turbocharged diesel engine. If it fails, then accelerations will continue up until a maximum of 6 accelerations. If the average of the fourth, fifth and sixth accelerations is higher than the average of the first three, then the vehicle has failed its MOT."

I think..... shoot me down if I am wrong.......... 3.00 for Turbo engines or 2.50 for non Turbo's is the max so 0.46 is fine.....

It's a measurement of the exhaust gases (pollution) your vehicle is producing. There's little difference to last year and the emissions are within the accepted limits, so it passed. If you service it regularly, it'll help to keep it that way.
