IVA test requiring sealing rear windows shut?

Has anyone else bought an IVA'd Bongo and found the rear windows have been sealed shut? I am being told by the dealer I bought it from that this was done in order for it to comply with the IVA test but he is saying its at my risk if I try to restore the windows to their original opening state and isnt being very forthcoming about exactly what he did to the windows to seal them (it looks like maybe a metal pin pushed into the window arm).
Anyone else had experience of this and more importanly any tips for how to make the windows open again ?!
Out of curiosity I have looked through the IVA testing manual to see why on earth it would be necessary to seal the windows but can't really find anything that gives me any clues. I can only assume it must be a security thing as the Bongo doesnt have an alarm?

Not heard of that, do you mean the passenger side rear one? That never did open as it'd foul on the sliding door, the other 3 should open though

Basically for the old SVA test, the windows were not allowed to open past the bodywork (to be honest its only a few mm on a bongo, but you have to have jobs for jobsworth

). People used to put a small self tapping screw through the plastic to prevent opening thereby creating a non opening window (no problem). IVA requires that the vehicle be more 'factory prepared' so a self tapper is not going to pass. As far as I understand, for a bongo to pass IVA the 3 opening windows need to be replaced with 3 non opening catches like on the rear n/s window.
If this is the case, then I am suprised that the dealer left them on as personally I would keep one set and swap them over after the stupid test.
I may have a set spare if you need them as I do have a full spare set of factory black glass and most of the catches. PM me if you get stuck.

Thanks madmile for your offer. As one of the three window catches appears to have been broken during the sealing process I am hoping the dealer will provide me with at least one replacement catch and that I can work out a way of un-sealing the other two myself. If I dont get anywhere I will be in touch.
