Hi There.
Has anybody had any experience with those remote kits you can get off e.bay.They convert key type central locking to remote - Just looks like a black box with a bunch of wires coming out and 2 remote key fobs. They say they will fit any vehicle? How easy would it be to fit to a Bongo?

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanx Gray.

You'll also need an actuator for the driver's door.

There's a factsheet in the members area that'll help you fit it, not too difficult, but it is a bit of a bloody knuckle job geting the actuator in the right place in the drivers door.

i bought a 4 door kit of ebay for £17 and you get everything you need to fit it, obviously you only need one actuator on the bongo....
i fitted the kit to a 2 door kit car that i had and it is very easy...
i susspect the hardest part of fitting one to a bongo is getting the door card off?....

this was the kit i used, you would only need to fit the master, all the wiring is done, the only thing you have to do is conect the + - leads....

the other alternative is to buy this and see if any one here has got a spare door solenoid as most of the kits are sold with 1 master and three slaves and its only the slave that you need + rods & fixing brackets, So while I am here has any one got a spare one for me ????

Would I require anything else to go with this kit ( not technically minded )  or are there better options out there :?:

Thanks

Duncan.

this a better price than maplins, and the way I see it, the remote button sends a signal to the new controller that then sends a signal to the SLAVE solenoid which is linked to the original door lock rod, and the door lock then sends the signals to the other doors,

I don't know what signals you are on about.

The 2 wire solenoid mechanically locks the drivers door and this action locks all the others the same as if you had locked it with the key.

I only put the maplins link to show that you can buy these motors on their own... as usual on this site I wish I hadn't bothered.

So I sign off
