brake bulb keeps blowing

Hi, the rear light element was/is fine but the brake element goes. #-o
Still got spares but very annoying.
It's the rear left, any ideas please? [-o<

bought some new ones and no problems since

ah, so you have to spend money not use something old
you had lying about.

Sometimes old stuff is better than new stuff.

About a year ago I had a brake lamp fail while camping and replaced it
from a "sell everything" type shop. It lasted about a week. I sorted
through my old stuff that "might come in handy one day" and found
a lamp that was at least 20 years old, fitted it, and it's been OK ever
since.

I think that some cheap lamps are not sealed properly and lose the gas
which prevents the filament from burning out.

i had the same problem.i had the first bulb blow,then bought some cheap bulbs,two for a quid from my local garage.replaced the bulb then the other side blew,then this kept happening every few weeks or so,until i bought some decent lucas bulbs,bit more expensive,but no problems since.

thanks all, got one more spare, see how long that lasts.
at least it's an easy job.
