Poor Running in cold weather

Sorry if this has been answered before, but I couldn't find it on a search.
My diesel bongo (2000 model) has been fine all summer, but now the winter's coming she runs a bit lumpy until warmed up.

Starting is fine but the tickover rythmically drops and rises until engine is up to temp. It feels the same as a petrol car running on 3 cylinders.

The tickover reads 600rpm or so (2nd mark on rev counter) which I thhought was a bit low, but could it be a faulty glowplug?

Any suggestions gratefully received as I'm still not comfortable letting any local garages here in North Kent loose on her until I know that they know what they're doing with them.

I'm in a wheelchair so I can do minor stuff myself such as glowplugs

Sounds like glow plug/s or relay, it's as well to replace all the glow plugs, watch out for the cheap ones, short life & bits have been known to drop off.
