Hi bongo is in at the auto-electricians. They need us to source this part, the electrician called it a "heater servo". Phoned a local bongo servicer and he was not able to identify the part from this name. Can you tell me what to ask for and who in the northwest might be able to supply one. Thanks for any help. This is the best I can do looks like the arm is on the other side but I'm sure with a bit more searching you will find one.

It's the actuator for the heater flaps in the drivers footwell for the climate control model methinks (basically a motor that moves the flaps to direct the airflow between the windscreen, dash mounted blowers, or towards your feet, only the bongos with digital climate control have it fitted, t'others are operated manually by a cable) that description may help you find the part from a bongo breaker.
Here's a piccy of it in situ looking towards the middle of the drivers side footwell

Thanks everyone. Chap at Bury asked me if it was a resistor, you can fit all I know on a postage stamp. Don't want to end up with the wrong one as it seems it matters which controls you have also.

Thanks Dave will give them a ring in the morning. Only found out near to 5pm. Tried Ian Maynard first but he was closed for the day. Will ring him in the morning too. Thank you all for your help. Hope I get my bongo back soon. Trish

My very first problem with Bongo.
It is a motor which controls the position of the heater direction flap.
When you order one, dont forget to ask for the link rod.
read this post (has some pics which will help)http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... =3&t=26835

I got one from http://www.bongobits.com/Main.asp?PageName=Home delivered next day - about £20 from memory.

If you fail to source one from the replies given , try looking at ones from Mazda 626 cars as the climate control on a Bongo looks the same as that on my 1998 626. (Can't give you mine!). The connecting rod may not be the same, but the unit may be the same.

By the look of the moulding, this was originally designed to have a cover over it...

Which it should have done then my big foot wouldn't have snapped the plastic bit of at the bottom that holds the rod in, two days after getting my bongo! #-o

 Super glue to the rescue
